Waiting for the Wind

This meadow, with thistles and other wildflowers awaiting breezes to scatter their seeds, was part of a small farm abutting our property where we once lived. Since then, houses have sprung up like weeds where Angus cattle had roamed. Thistles, silo and rag-tag barn have disappeared. So have most of the trees. Gone with the winds of change....  This painting is in its new home in Northern Virginia.
